Weighing in

To ensure the wedding invitation arrives in your guests letterbox on time and in tact check you have written the correct postcode and paid the correct postage.

You don't want to have your immaculately designed wedding invitations returned for resending or worse, have your wedding guests being told they need to pay the extra postage before they can collect your wedding invitation.

For a postage estimate, take a complete wedding invitation to the Post Office for a weigh in. Include response cards, registry cards, pew cards, maps and any other inserts you plan to send to your guests. Local and overseas postage costs vary depending on the thickness of the wedding invitation as well as its weight and size.

Emailing wedding invitations

Never, some traditions should never die.

Perfect timing

Wedding invitations are sent 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding, with an RSVP date around 2 weeks before the day itself.

If you have wedding guests who need to travel to your wedding, or if you are having a destination wedding, it is advisable to send a Save The Date card. This can be sent up to a year in advance to notify guests of your impending nuptials, particularly when guests are travelling from overseas.
