Monique Lhuillier's 2014 spring collection was designed as a ready to wear for girls who don't want too much fuss.

With a nod to the 60's the collection was made up of sleek short dresses that would look as good on mum as they would on the bride or bridesmaids for that matter. There is something for every kind of bride with this collection and if you just want to run away to the wedding registry at the Town Hall then this is your inspiration. Shorter styles are are great for beach and outdoor weddings. Dressed up with a jacket a short wedding dress these wedding outfits are great for smaller more sophisticated registry weddings.

Monique makes a good point in her show that with a shorter style the shoe really becomes a key part of the whole look, so getting the right pair is essential.

As in every collection there were the more traditional styles including Monique's trademark sleek trumpet sihouette in gorgeous, luxurious fabrics such as printed jaquard laces and crinkled satin organza.

Never one to shy away from sparkle for an evening occasion, my pick from the Monique Lhuillier collection this year, is the illusion silk embroidered cap sleeve gown with the tie waist and A-line skirt it's feminine, young fresh and flattering.
