What you pack for your honeymoon will vary depending on the destination. However here is a small list of essentials that you may not have thought about and should have with you regardless of where you travel. Depending on the destination

Consider the climate and search your honeymoon destinations local weather guides the week you are to leave for your trip and only pack what's necessary, leave room for shopping and souvenirs.

  • Itinerary
  • Passports & Tickets
  • Receipts of accommodation and activites pre booked and paid for prior to leaving
  • Language Guide Book
  • Destination Information
  • Locks for luggage and keys
  • Luggage Tags
  • Passports/Visas
  • Prescriptions and medications
  • Vaccinations documentation if applicable to your destination
  • A warm wrap or sarong for the plane
  • Wet wipes for a spotlessly clean table on the plane and to wipe your hands before meals when travelling 


  • Day wear
  • Evening wear
  • Swimwear (even for cold climates as you may need it to use the spa or steam rooms)\
  • Hat
  • Slippers (if they won't be in the room them pack them - it's always a luxury and a comfort to slip on a pair to walk from the bathroom to the bedroom)
  • Underwear and Socks
  • Spare pair of glasses or extra contact lenses (you'd hate to miss all the action if you lose them.)


  • Sunscreen (it's never as good as what you get at home)
  • Toothbrush & Toothpaste
  • Shampoo & Conditioner (you may not be able to buy your favourite brand on your honeymoon)

Other Suggestions

  • Electrical adapters (unless your destination is compatible with Australian standards)
  • Charger for mobile phone and camera
  • Cash – at least $50 worth of coins and small denominations of the currency to where you are travelling
  • First Aid Kit
  • Flashlight
  • Umbrella or plastic ponchos
  • Small sewing kit
