Filipino Wedding Traditions

There are four main traditions included in a Wedding Ceremony in the Philippines.
- The Candle Ceremony ~ A candle is lit to represent the couple's new life together, the one flame being a symbol of their unity.
- The Coin Ceremony ~ Thirteen coins are given to the couple, as a symbol of their commitment to stay together whatever their financial situation may be.
- The Veil Ceremony ~ A veil is draped around the couple to symbolise their union, and to cement their Vows to stay together for better or for worse.
-
The Cord Ceremony ~ The cord, which is said to have no end, is wrapped around the Veil, and is symbolic of the eternal continuity of their Marriage.
