Belgian Wedding Traditions

A lovely Belgian tradition, that is gaining popularity worldwide, is a special wedding handkerchief which is passed down from bride to bride within the family.
The bride to be carries it with her on her wedding day, and the day after the ceremony, her name is embroidered in the corner of the cloth. It is then framed and hung proudly on her wall.
When the next family wedding is announced, the handkerchief is taken from the frame for the new bride to carry on her day. Again her name is embroidered underneath that of the last who carried the handkerchief.
