Tie The Knot
Tie The Knot
There are two schools of thought as to where the term "To Tie The Knot" came from.
Ancient Rome - It is said the bride would wear a girdle that was completely knotted, and the groom had the tedious task of untying it! Thus the term "Tie The Knot!"
Babylon - It is also said that in ancient Babylon, threads were taken from the garments of both the bride and groom and were tied into a knot. This was not a symbolic practice but was believed to act as a magic means of ensuring the oneness of the couple.
