Tibetan Wedding Traditions
Tibetan legend states that weddings are the cause of severe hailstorms, so couples are usually married in spring, the one season that bad weather is most uncommon.
The groom will present his future mother in law with an array of gifts, as a token of gratitude for his bride having been in such good care whilst she was still living with her family. In return, it is expected that his bride is still a virgin.
