Norwegian Wedding Traditions

The celebrations of a typical Norwegian wedding ceremony can carry on for two or more days.
Traditionally, the bride would add a crown, owned by her village, to her bridal attire. This was given to her on her wedding day on behalf of all the people in her village, as a token of their happiness for the couple.
Many Norwegian brides opt to wear a traditional dress, heavily embroidered in red and white, in replace of the western bridal gown.
