Mexican Wedding Traditions

i-do Member, Karla Ochoa, from Mexico, emailed us with a Mexican wedding tradition, and sent a pic of her brother at his reception!
A traditional Mexican wedding tradition is called "el muertito". During the reception the groom is lifted over the shoulders of all the men, and then tossed several times into the air!
Also, traditionally, guests at the Wedding of a Mexican couple will join hands and form the shape of a heart around the newlyweds. The couple starts their first dance within the heart, symbolising that they will always be surrounded by the love of their families and friends. |
