Marrying In May
Marrying In May
Of all the months of the year, May was considered to be the unluckiest. This stemmed from ancient Roman times, as May was the month when the festivals of Bona Dea, Goddess of Chastity, took place.
Of course, marrying in this month meant that the chances of starting a family were considerably lower, so wedding celebrations took place in all remaining eleven months of the year.
