Peppers Formal Wear groom with red rose

Peppers Formal Wear is an independent, boutique business specialising in men's wedding suits and black tie wear for both hire and purchase. Established in 1988 Peppers has long been the first choice for Sydney's most elegant, immaculately dressed grooms.

Peppers has its showroom in Cremorne, on the lower North Shore offering quality wedding suits with personalised service and expert advice on matters of etiquette, fit and styling. The range is deliberately kept small and select and is made exclusively in Australia for Peppers.

Suits for day weddings

Pure wool lounge suits are slim fitting in grey or beige and are perfect for the daytime, especially for less formal weddings such as restaurant and beach weddings. From mid November 2013 Peppers will add a super slim fitting Navy suit to its range of day suits for hire.

For formal day weddings Peppers recommends the classic Morning Suit - the jacket is cutaway to create a slim, waisted look and comes in grey, charcoal and black. Traditionally worn with pinstripe trousers, a wing collar shirt and double breasted waistcoat, it may be dressed down a touch by the use of a business shirt and tie. This very English outfit creates a timeless, classic look, perfect for garden, country and church weddings.

Suits for evening weddings

2013 sees the return to black tie weddings, with the bridesmaids in evening gowns and the guests asked to dress formally. The boys are best dressed in a sleek dinner suit in a slim fit with traditional satin detailing. This is a sophisticated ensemble perfected by the addition a low cut detailed waistcoat, pleated dinner shirt with dress studs and hand tied bow.

For some less formal but suitable to an evening wedding, look to black and charcoal suits with the addition of subtle waistcoats and ties.

Formal wear for the groomsmen for a day time wedding

Peppers offers a made to order service for grooms desiring a suit to purchase. These can be made in a variety of styles from the classic dinner suits to an ultra modern day suit in of a range of fabrics. Dinner shirts and white business shirts are available to hire or to purchase at a reduced price as part of the hire package. Waistcoats are made in soft neutral tones in pure wool, satin or subtle patterns, and come in a variety of cuts. Ties and bows can be hired or bought in a huge range of colours and patterns. Peppers also offers pure silk ties to purchase at a reduced rate with the suit hire. Waistcoats, ties, bows and cravats can also be made for you in your own fabric.

It is advisable to start looking at suit choices no later than three months prior to the big day. At this initial fitting the groom should try on a variety of suit styles and look at the different accessory options. Peppers advises that the groom bring with him any dress colour samples to help choose the colour scheme. Once the suits have been chosen the rest of the wedding party should then be measured, no later than six weeks prior to the wedding to ensure availability. Any groomsmen coming from overseas or interstate should send through measurements in advance. A final fitting upon collection is recommended at which time any last minute alterations will be made.

Peppers' aim is to make the groom look his very best on the day. Since 1988 the experienced, knowledgeable staff at Peppers Formalwear have dressed some of Sydney's most beautiful weddings in quality, expertly fitted suits.
